Los Angeles Signal Management Manufacturer Makes Technology Advancements in Matrix Switcher
Brea CA (PRWEB) March 19, 2008 -- ALTINEX, Inc. announced the success of their MultiTasker series, a signal management system based on a modular card cage concept.
Typically, the core of most audio/visual presentation systems consists of several different stand-alone products, each capable of accomplishing a specific function. The MultiTasker takes an alternative approach, offering an enclosure capable of being loaded with cards that provide multi-media distribution, switching, scan conversion, scan doubling, and other signal management tasks.
"What truly makes the MultiTasker stand-out is that any AV system integrator can customize a solution for the specific requirements of an application," States Jack Gershfeld, President and CEO of ALTINEX. "If necessary, after the initial installation, the solution can be easily modified, expanded or upgraded by simply changing cards."
Unlike a stand-alone solution, if technology advancements make one signal type obsolete, the MultiTasker allows changing out only the affected channels, making it extremely "future friendly." Any number of enclosures can be looped together to provide a consistent means of controlling the cards through RS-232 or TCP/IP, therefore the MultiTasker helps reduce the amount of space required in a rack, since power supplies, power cables and other redundant elements required by stand-alone solutions are eliminated.

The new command set makes it simple to control. In fact, most functions can be controlled with only one command. We've also increased the RS-232 speed to allow non-stop command execution, developed new enclosures with enough power to accommodate any number of AV cards, and lastly, programmable front keys allow the execution of multiple commands," Gershfeld says in closing.
