Modular Manufacturer Wins National Design Awards
Claremont, NH (PRWEB) November 12, 2006 -- Customized Structures of Claremont, New Hampshire was the recipient of three Excellence in Home Design Awards from the Building Systems Council of the National Association of Home Builders. The awards ceremony was held Monday, November 6 at the Building Systems Council's annual SHOWCASE held this year in Miami, Florida. Representatives from Customized Structures on hand for the ceremony were Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Jack Donnelly, Chief Operating Officer, David Feller, Director, Joe Landers, and Factory Representative, Marc Beatty.
Customized Structures won awards in the categories of Modular Home over 4,000sf and Modular Multifamily and received an honorable mention in the category of Modular Home 2,300-4,000sf. The awards recognize the design flexibility and customization that modular construction can offer. They also help to dissolve the notion that modular construction is boxy and boring and that it can be distinct and push the limits of design.
The winner of the Modular Home Over 4,000sf was built as a classic waterfront retreat. The home was built on a steel frame foundation and then moved via barge to its final island destination off the coast of Connecticut. The Modular Multifamily was constructed to replicate a 100 year old Victorian home that stood on the site until it burned to the ground. The new construction was designed to reflect the local architecture and history. The modular unit that was created was designed with the latest in technology and energy efficient materials but was designed to look like it had been on the site forever. Finally, the Modular Home 2,300-4,000sf showcases a flexible, open floor plan to adapt to the homeowners needs as they changed and developed.
A full list of the winners for all of the Building Systems Council Excellence Awards will be listed in the January/ February issue of Building Systems Magazine. Customized Structures is an active member of the Home Builders and Remodelers Association of New Hampshire, the Building Systems Council and the National Association of Home Builders.
